Looks like I’m taking November off…

Hi! Just a quick post in case any of you don’t follow me on Instagram, and have wondered why I’ve disappeared!

I was rear-ended on the drive home from work 2 weeks ago, and I’ve been off with a concussion ever since. My glasses prescription has changed since the accident, so everything is double right now… I also have light sensitivity and need to avoid screens. Unfortunately I can’t sew either!

In the mean time, I’m living life like a cat – lots of lazying around in dark rooms with my electric blanket! Frank clearly approves, because he is hanging with me 24/7. My family and friends have been amazing, so I’m just giving my brain time to recover.

Sending you all lots of love,

Gillian

  6. Oh my goodness!!! It’s crazy how a seemingly “minor” accident can cause damage.

I hope you’re 100% soon! But rest up so that you can get back to 100%!! 🙂 Hugs!

  7. I am so sorry that this happened to you! November will be over in the blink of an eye and prayerfully you will have fully recovered. You are one of my favorite sewing bloggers and I’ll be waiting to see all the makes you dreamed up during this period of time.

  9. Dearest Gillian. In the past years I have had two close co-workers suffering from really bad concussions and the long-term consequenses too. They made the HUGE mistake of insisting on coming back to their jobs and daily pressure and that made it worse for them. I will not wish for your SPEEDY recovery but more for your possibility to ease SLOWLY back into the daily life. Please go see neurologist with concussions as specialy, as you need to act fairly soon for them to help you… Also, (guided) meditation seem to have helped them both! Especialky given that your normal sewing/meditative routine is on hold ♥️

  11. Concussions are nothing to fool with! It takes a long time for the brain to heal. Be gentle with yourself, this is NOT the time to be a heroine! Sending relaxing vibes your way…ps try audio books when you get super bored!

  13. This sucks so much! I really hope you start feeling better soon. A co-worker’s son had a concussion last year and he said they found it got better in plateaus—not much improvement for a week or two, then a sudden jump. Hopefully you get some jumps soon. Crazy!

  14. Oh how frightening! I hope you enjoy your down time and that you recover as soon as you feel like it : ) Also it changed your prescription?! As a life-long glasses wearer – WHAT?! In any case, feel better soon and I recommend adding a hot water bottle to your routine!
