Paint Daub Maxi

My first post for Cali Fabrics is now up! I made this maxi in early July, using the Comino Cap bodice, and the skirt from the Sallie Jumpsuit and Dress pattern. I can tell this dress is a favourite because it’s what I reached for on the first day of ESL camp, and another time to meet a friend I haven’t seen in 10 years. When an outfit is what you want to wear to look trustworthy for work AND fun for friends, it’s a winner!

(I was also wearing this dress the day I bought the crazy border print for my latest tent dress, and it entertained me how similar the colour scheme is on the two fabrics. This dress is part of why I bought that fabric!)

    1. Thanks Helen! This print and the one I used for the Groove dress this week are making me think that maybe I CAN wear yellow, as long as it’s mixed in with other colours I love! 🙂

    1. Hahaha! When I was meeting the all-Muslim, all new-to-Canada parents of my ESL camp kids, I thought being slightly covered might be a good thing! Though the bare shoulders came out pretty quickly after that! 😉

  8. What a cool print! I can’t think of anything more perfect for an art teacher, and the neckline/cap sleeve combo sits really beautifully on you. I’m so bummed I missed the call for bloggers. Dash my postpartum lack of internetting. I’ve been to Cali Fabrics brick and mortar and I love their stuff, and you’re right about $100 going far too.

    1. I’m heading to a cottage for a week, and I have this plan to bring only my favourite summer dresses! Including this one, of course. I have so many clothes that I don’t end up wearing things as much as I’d like, especially when I’m at home and just wear pjs al day. So get ready, cottage town, I’m going to be overdresses and fabulous! 😉
